Scott Thomas Anderson has been a journalist in Northern California for more than eight years. He has written for the Sacramento News & Review, the Amador Ledger Dispatchand Sierra Lodestar magazine. He’s also been published in The Irish Independent in Dublin. He is the winner of several statewide journalism awards and a national journalism fellowship. He covers crime, courts, investigations and business for the Roseville Press Tribune. Scott also has 18 months of experience working as an embedded reporter with California law enforcement agencies, the findings of which were published in March of 2012 as the nonfiction book of journalism, "Shadow People: how meth-driven crime is eating at the heart of rural America." While working at the Press Tribune and Placer Herald, he finished his second book of journalism, "The Cutting Four-piece: crime and tragedy in an era of prison overcrowding."
