I had to call 9-1-1 on my cell phone once and I waited about five to six minutes on hold. When you are waiting it seams like a long time. I told my wife to program the Sheriffs number in directly in her cell phone for emergencies.

I had a car accident in front of my house and I called 9-1-1 from my cell. I had to choose what kind of emergency it was and then I talked to an operator within 30 seconds or so.

Someone I talked to said she used her cell phone to call 9-1-1 because of a fire and after waiting so long she had to go to a neighbor?s home to use their landline.

I called one time when I was driving to report a possible drunk and it didn?t take very long. It was mid-day so maybe they weren?t very busy. I called in the Loomis area off I-80.

I called from my mom?s car to report what I thought was a drunk driver and after being on hold for five minutes I gave up and hung up. We were in Sacramento on our way home from a trip.

I live in Sacramento and it doesn?t matter what kind of phone you call from, you still don?t get help. I?m not blaming the police ? they are just understaffed.
