Word On The Street

By: Asked by Joyia Emard at the Placer County Master Gardeners' "Gardeners Gathering" at the Blue Goose
-A +A

Basil, tomato, eggplant. I started them on my sun porch from seeds. I'll plant them at the end of March and cover them if it gets cold. I've had tomatoes as early as June. Nadine Hart, Loomis

I'm new to the area, I just moved from Western Washington. I'm looking for something that will attract hummingbirds. Pat Valencia Loomis

I'm looking for drought-resistant shrubs and ground cover that flower and will attract beneficials. Pat Huber, Loomis

I took out all my lawn in the front yard and I'm putting in zero-scape. I have topiaries in my yard and I'm putting in drought-tolerant plants. Mike Arthur, Loomis

Italian plants - tomatoes, eggplant, basil, peppers. I can things and make sauce. I made catsup once. Claudia Starkey Penryn

Summer bulbs - dahlias, gladiolas, freesia. I have a big vegetable garden. Wilma Searns Loomis
