"Some people say our soup is the reason they come to the Country Christmas," said hook and ladder member Erik Croft. Boy Scout Aaron Montoya of Auburn Troop 269 held the American flag while the Pledge of Alliance opened the Country Christmas in Old Town Auburn Saturday night. The Christmas Tree Lady shared a candy cane with two-year old Kaleb Jones of Auburn. David Hewgill of Olde Tyme Kernel Kettle Corn filled bags of warm kettle corn, a Country Christmas favorite, Saturday night at Old Town Auburn's Country Christmas. The classic Christmas treat of roasting chestnuts was enjoyed by many at the Amber Oaks Raspberries vendor booth Saturday. Owner Bryon Norris was roasting the classic nut on a gas burner. Roasting marshmallows over an open flame in Old Town Saturday night are (L-R) Mattie Arter 10, Nina Vaughan, and Mathew Vaughan 13. Four generations visited with Santa Saturday night in Old Town. Visiting Santa are (L-R) Halley Bulger, Carla Booker, Alexis Bubler 5, Audury Bulger 11 mos., and great grandmother Gwen Kremin. Santa Claus visited Old Town Auburn's Country Christmas and got Lexie Lavigne (L) and Isabelle Frasher's 3, Christmas list. Both girls are from Auburn. Patsy Shrum (L) and Amador Rose (R) dressed in traditional Christmas outfits for Saturday nights festivities in Old Town. Shrum and Rose are members of Sierra Six Guns and Sidekicks a western re-enactment group.
