Town offers to buy SPMUD building
The Town of Loomis has presented a purchase offer to the South Placer Municipal Utility District to buy their vacated building on Taylor Road, said Perry Beck, Loomis Town Manager. The building is located at 3671 Taylor Road, next to the post office. The utility district relocated their offices to Rocklin on June 6 and no longer needs the facility. If an offer is accepted the town will relocate their offices and town hall to the facility. “It has about the same amount of square footage as we have now, but it’s configured better,” Beck said. Beck stated he expects an answer back from utility district representatives some time next week. He said the utility district had an appraisal done on the building that came in at $560,000. “That’s what we based our offer on,” Beck said.
