The Greater Sacramento area's only four-year, traditional private university is opening its doors to give high school students a glimpse of university life. On Feb. 21, the university will host its bi-annual preview day to give high school students and their parents a look at life at William Jessup University, a private Christian university in Rocklin. The formal activities begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m. Preview Day gives prospective students a chance to experience the campus, from classes to social events, said Vance Pascua, Director of Admission at William Jessup University. We look forward to students joining us for the entire day and getting a glimpse of what makes our university special. William Jessup will also showcase its Degree Completion Program from 7-8:30 p.m. The DCP addresses the unique needs of working adults. Through creative and supportive programs that integrate faith with learning, students complete their undergraduate degrees while maintaining full-time employment. William Jessup University, founded in 1939 in San Jose, relocated its main campus to Rocklin in 2004 to accommodate growth and give it an opportunity to expand its course offerings. The university is located on an expansive, 125-acre campus and includes extensive athletic facilities and dormitories. The university offers a wide variety of degree opportunities, including Business Administration, Christian Education, English, History, Intercultural Studies, Liberal Studies (Teacher Education), Music, Pastoral Ministry, Psychology, Public Policy and Youth Ministry. The student-to-faculty ratio is 12 to 1 and the average class size is 15 students. The William Jessup University campus is an impressive blend of modern architecture and state-of-the-art technology, including a completely wireless campus. The preview day event allows students to explore the educational opportunities at the Christian university and its campus life. The experience provides a wonderful opportunity to meet and hear from current students, faculty and staff; tour the campus; sit in on a class; discover more about majors and programs; and learn the details about admissions and financial aid.
