The return postage for the Placer County vote-by mail-ballots for the Nov. 6, 2012 Presidential General Election only requires just one first-class stamp, according to a spokesman for the Placer County Office of Elections.

To apply for a vote-by-mail ballot, voters can use the vote-by-mail ballot request form on their sample ballot pamphlet or download a request form from the election office’s website at, or call 885-5650.

To ensure sufficient processing time, the last day by law that the Office of Elections may mail a voter-requested vote-by-mail ballot is Oct. 30. Voters may also pick up a vote-by-mail ballot in the elections office – located at 2956 Richardson Drive in the DeWitt Center in Auburn – until election day. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 6.

Voters can also cast their ballot during special weekend hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 27-28 and Nov. 3-4.
