Learn how to preserve figs using a 100-year-old recipe during a community education program hosted by the Placer County Museums department. The free program starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at the Bernhard Museum, 291 Auburn Folsom Road, in Auburn. Joanne Neft, author of Placer County Real Food: Recipes and Menus for Every Week of the Year,” will share the vintage recipe.
