By: Staff report
A woman was robbed at gunpoint on Jan. 10 at the Safeway store on Sunset Boulevard and Park Drive in Rocklin. Rocklin police responded at approximately 1:25 p.m. to a reported armed robbery with a handgun. A few days later, a concerned citizen called a tip into detectives regarding a suspicious person and vehicle, which may have been involved in the robbery. During the investigation, detectives have identified two persons of interest in this case and are asking the public to contact the Rocklin PD should they have any information as to the identity of either of these two women. These two persons of interest may be associated with a black four-door Honda Accord, late 90’s or early 2000’s model with tinted windows. The vehicle was last seen exiting eastbound onto Sunset Boulevard from the Rock Creek center parking lot. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Rocklin Police Department Investigations Unit at 625-5400 or Detective Corporal Rich Cabana at 625-5414. The female victim had completed shopping in the store and was in the process of loading her groceries into her vehicle. A newer, black, four-door sedan with rear-tinted windows pulled up near her vehicle and a female exited the front passenger seat and approached the victim on foot. The female suspect displayed a small, dark covered handgun with a silver tip. The suspect said nothing but reached over and took the victim’s purse. When the suspect took the purse she then fled into the black-colored sedan. The victim was not injured. The female suspect is described as being an adult age 20 to 25 years old, 5’5”, medium build, dirty blond hair wearing a black jacket, dark gray sweats and a black and white ball cap. The second suspect is described as being a white male. The suspects’ vehicle is described as a newer, black, four-door sedan with rear-tinted windows, white paper plates with black-colored handwriting on the rear plate. Officers conducted a search of the area, but did not locate the suspects or suspects’ vehicle. Any information in regards to this case, please contact the Rocklin Police Department at 625-5400.
