Greg Bomhoff, a Franklin School parent and ultra-marathon runner, has turned miles and miles of laps into cash. For 24 hours, beginning Thursday morning, April 22, through this morning, Bomhoff ran 128.75 miles — 575 laps — on the Franklin Elementary School track. For his efforts, Bomhoff raised $24,000 for health and fitness programs at the Loomis school. Additional donations are expected. About 500 runners joined Bomhoff on the track during a 6 p.m. 5K fun run/walk. And hundreds of students and parents were on hand to cheer Bomhoff this morning as he completed the marathon run. — Staff report
