Two Loomis teens arrested in liquor store burglary

Placer County Sheriff's detectives have arrested two Loomis boys for burglarizing the Stone Tree Liquor and Deli in Loomis early Sunday morning, Feb. 3.

According to Placer County Sheriff’s spokesperson Dena Erwin, the boys, ages 15 and 17, were arrested for breaking into the liquor store on Taylor Road at 1:40 a.m., Sunday morning.

Erwin said their actions were captured on videotape as they broke the glass front doors, entered the store and took cigarettes and alcohol. She said a deputy who spoke with the boys in the area of the store earlier that evening recognized them in the video.

Detectives followed up on leads, which led to the arrests, Erwin said. The teens were booked at the Placer County Juvenile Hall in Auburn.

Detectives are still looking for the suspects who broke into the Stone Tree Liquor and Deli and stole the store's safe on Jan. 26.
