Placer County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two Loomis residents on Thursday for embezzlement and theft, according to the Placer County arrest log.

Joseph Charles Campbell, 45, and Morgan Lynn Pryde, 23, of Paloma Drive, were arrested on March 8. Campbell was arrested at the Paloma Drive residence, where the couple lived and charged with felony embezzlement and theft of an elder/dependant adult.

Pryde was charged with embezzlement, theft, and grand theft and arrested at another location.

T.O. Fowler, who lives on Paloma Drive, said on Thursday afternoon, he saw numerous Placer County sheriff’s deputies at the home where Campbell and Pryde lived and witnessed Campbell being taken away in handcuffs.

He said deputies conducted a search of the residence and confiscated one of Campbell’s vehicles. Fowler said the couple had lived there for almost a year in the home where Pryde’s father lives.

Dustin Siepert said he rented office space in an industrial building on Angelo Court to Campbell and Pryde.

He said Campbell told him he was a contractor and did tenant improvements. He said sheriff’s deputies came to the property yesterday and confiscated a number of vehicles and large horse trailers owned by Campbell.

“The case is active and the Sheriff’s Office is still investigating,” Dena Erwin, Placer County Sheriff’s Office public information officer, said Friday. Citing the ongoing investigation, the office declined to release further details at this time.
