The configuration of the parking lot at Loomis Depot Park will be presented to the Loomis Planning Commission and the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Committee at a special combined meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at the Loomis Depot, according to Brian Fragiao, town engineer. Omni Means, the firm designing the park, will make the presentation. The new park is the first phase of the downtown master plan. The park is expected to cost $400,000 and is funded with a grant that must be used by June 2011. The rest of the downtown master plan is an ambitious proposal produced by MIG that calls for streetscapes that include pedestrian walkways, planted medians, signage, pocket plazas and lighting. Fragiao called it a 20-year plan. MIG will present the final plan for approval at special council meeting that will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 3 at the Loomis Depot.
