Tour de Cure hopes to curb cycle of diabetes

-A +A
Take the ride of your life and help stop diabetes at this year’s Tour de Cure. This past November, the American Diabetes Association kicked off its “Stop Diabetes” campaign in order to put an end to the one of the deadliest diseases to affect Americans. This spring, thousands of people across the country will participate in the annual Tour de Cure cycling event. Pedal away diabetes on Saturday, May 1, at Hewlett Packard in Roseville. Ride distances will accommodate all cyclists, from a family ride complete with carnival games to a fully supported 100-mile ride. Upon returning, riders will find live music, a free lunch, and a greet party with many prize giveaways. The Tour de Cure raises funds through registration fees and pledges collected by the cyclists. To register as a cyclist or volunteer, call the American Diabetes Association at 924-3232, ext. 7400, or visit diabetes.org/rosevilletour. The American Diabetes Association is leading the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fighting for those affected by diabetes. The association funds research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes; delivers services to hundreds of communities; provides objective and credible information; and gives voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes. - Staff report
