Thanks to the help of Thunder Valley Casino, Placer County Sheriff’s Office deputies will be better protected when it comes to high-risk situations.

According to Lt. Darrell Steinhauer, commander of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team (SET), Thunder Valley’s grant to the Sheriff’s Office allowed it to buy a small, high-tech, remote camera that will be used to assist SET members in hazardous situations.

The grant program is funded by Thunder Valley Casino, the Indian gaming special distribution fund, and is administered by the local community benefit committee.

“In these tight budget times we would not have been able to acquire this public safety equipment without the funding from this grant,” Steinhauer said in a release. “Thunder Valley’s continued commitment to local law enforcement, its members, and the public is greatly appreciated.”
