Three people were taken to the hospital after a solo car accident on Taylor Road last night.
At about 5:35 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, a car traveling southbound on Taylor Road swerved to avoid another car and hit a utility pole on the corner of Walnut Street and Taylor Road, according to Capt. Darrell Jones, with Loomis Fire Protection District.
Jones said two passengers in the car sustained moderate injuries and one sustained minor injuries. He said all three were transported to local hospitals. He said the fourth person refused medical treatment against the advice of emergency responders.
Penryn Fire District and Placer County Sheriff’s Office were on scene.
The vehicle sustained major front end damage.
Placer County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brad McKenzie said the other car that may have caused the accident did not stop and authorities are seeking that driver. He said that a driver who may have caused an accident is required to stay at the scene of the accident. McKenzie said the cause of the accident is under investigation.
