The University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital will carry out hands-on activities and lessons to promote animal health and welfare. The State Fair Vet School Program, open to students ages 10 to 17, runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturdays July 17, 24 and 31. Registration deadline is Tuesday, June 18. The fee is $20, and includes a barbecue and snacks. Admission to the fair and parking are extra. To register, call Amy Budahn at 274-0477. The State Fair has been moved to an earlier starting date. It opens July 14 and closes Aug. 1. This year's theme is "Your Passport to Adventure."
