Jr. Golf Camps at The Ridge The Ridge Golf Club in Auburn is offering Junior Golf Camps from 9 a.m. to noon on August 5 and 6 . The camps are for boys and girls ages 8 to 17; clubs or experience are not needed. Fundamentals of the swing, short game and putting will be covered. There will be games and skills contests to enrich each attendee’s experience. Cost per camp is $50 for Ridge Junior Club members, $60 for non-members. Former 49er to host football camps Former San Francisco 49ers tight end Ted Popson has scheduled a Skills and Technique Football Camp for youths ages 11 to 15 this month in Auburn. Being conducted in conjunction with the Auburn Recreation District, the Ted Popson Football Camps are non-contact which will focus on teaching technique and skills for Receivers (July 20 through 24) and Defensive Line (July 27 through 31). Sierra Hall of Fame taking nominations The Sierra College Wolverine Athletic Association (WAA) is accepting nominations for its Class of 2010 Hall of Fame to honor its former and current athletes, coaches, and community members. The association is asking members of the community for nominations for induction into the Hall of Fame. The deadline to submit a nomination is Aug. 7.
