Trunk or Treat in Loomis Kids can enjoy a free Halloween evening with hay rides, a jump house and candy at the Trunk or Treat event starting at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31. The site is the Lighthouse Christian Center, 5770 Saunders Avenue, in Loomis. Haunted Castle in Lincoln 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. through Friday, Oct. 31 All five senses will be “excited” by scary stuff and monsters on the prowl. Ten rooms of scary stuff, including “smellivision.” May be too scary for children 6 and under. Sponsored by Lincoln Police Activities League ant the Countryside Haunters. Admission is free with a donation of canned food for the Lincoln Lions holiday food baskets. McBean Park Pavilion BBQ area on McBean Park Road Horton Farm open for pumpkin picking Horton Farm, known or iris flowers in spring, still has lots of pumpkins just waiting to be carved. Many are still on the vine. The farm is located at the corner of King and Val Verde Roads. Call first: 239-9432. Visit Flower Farm for fall fun The Flower Farm Pumpkin Patch has hayrides from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through October. Call 652-5650 for information about all the many events. Daylight Halloween Trick or Treat Friday, Oct. 31 Newcastle: noon – 5 p.m. Auburn: 1 – 5 p.m. Several businesses in Newcastle, Old Town Auburn and Downtown Auburn are participating in daylight Trick or Treating. Participating locations will have a participant sign on the door. Haunted House at Placer High School in Auburn Kid-friendly version: 2 p.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1 Hair-raising version: 4:30 p.m. – 9 p.m., Friday, Oct. 31 and 4:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1 Tickets: $4 per person or $12 for a family.
