Hall-of-Fame pitcher Fingers to sign wine bottles
A wine tasting, discussion and bottle signing featuring National Baseball Hall of Famer Rollie Fingers will be held from 3-6 p.m. Friday at Total Wine & More, 5791 Five Star Dr., in Roseville.
His likeness is featured on bottles of Cooperstown Cuvée, a limited edition 2006 Rollie Fingers Player’s Private Reserve red table wine. The right-handed pitcher was noted for his handlebar moustache during his playing days with the Oakland A’s, who won three consecutive World Series from 1972-74.
Cooperstown Cuvée was awarded silver medals at the California State Fair and the San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco International wine competitions, and a bronze medal at the Grand Harvest Awards.
Local winemaker Rod Moniz will conduct the wine tasting and discussion.
