Sheriff Bonner to speak at United Way Kick-off

United Way California Capital Region’s Annual Kick-off Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at the Sacramento Convention Center. Placer County Sheriff Ed Bonner will represent the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County as a guest speaker. Bonner served as the council’s president during 1995 and 1996 and is among its prestigious list of Presidents Emeriti. Bonner will provide insight and motivation to the region’s business leaders about the challenges faced by families today and the community’s role in providing the resources and supports that will prevent crisis and harm. The Child Abuse Prevention Council Placer is a private, non-profit organization established in 1988. It is dedicated to the prevention and healing of child abuse and neglect. The council conducts public education activities across the Sierra-Sacramento region to raise awareness about child abuse. The council operates family resource centers in Auburn and Roseville.
