Science day activities launch creativity

Megan Conkle, Cassidy Marquez, Jackie Smaldone, and Savanna Shell, all sixth-graders at Placer Elementary School, work as a team to create a rocket during Mad About Science Day. Placer Elementary School held Mad About Science Day last month. Students in Rob Franks’ class worked on a rocket project was in partnership with Carleen Foley’s kindergarten class in honor of the space shuttle Challenger. The Challenger was destroyed just after liftoff killing all astronauts onboard, including teacher Christ McAuliffe, 25 years ago on Jan. 28, 1986.
