FRIDAY Attend a Holiday Gala, sponsored by the Placer County Wine and Grape Association, at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at the Flower Farm Inn. A catered dinner, live band and dancing are included. Food can be dropped off at the Loomis Basin Chamber of Commerce or Doupnik Manufacturing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday; and all donations can be delivered to Doupnik Manufacturing, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, at 3237 Rippey Rd. The December Loomis Basin Chamber of Commerce and Soroptomist International co-host the December Chamber Mixer at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Blue Goose Event Center. Funds will be raised to support families in need through the Loomis Basin Christmas Basket Program. The Flower Farm will host a Tamale Building Party from 6 to 9 pm., Wednesday, Dec. 7. Learn the art of tamale making using five kinds of chef-inspired fillings - vegetarian, beef, chicken, pork and festive sweet. Live music, dancing, spirits and surprises. The cost is $45 per person. Five local homes, ranging from historic to luxurious, will be decked out for the holidays.
