Roseville prep trapshooting teams receive endowments

Granite Bay, Roseville and Del Oro high schools received endowments of $10,000 each toward their trapshooting programs.

The endowments, awarded through the Midway USA Foundation and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, will help the teams purchase ammunition, targets and equipment, according to a news release.

“Receiving a $10k endowment is a great honor to the team and will go a long way to encourage youth development in the sport,” said Dennis Barnes of Granite Bay.

Sierra Foothills Club to hold annual RugbyFest

The Sierra Foothills Rugby Club will be host to its annual Ruckin’ & Shuckin’ RugbyFest at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Blue Goose Event Center in Loomis.

RugbyFest is open to adults at least 21 years old. Tickets can be purchased in advance of the event for $40 online at www.SierraFoothillsRugby.com. Walk-up tickets cost $45.

The evening includes an Irish dinner and oyster bar, beer on tap from Loomis Basin Brewery and dancing to music by Frankie Soul and The LocalTones.

Diamond Creek Elementary to hold golf tournament

Diamond Creek Elementary School in Roseville will act as host for its first golf tournament on Friday, June 8, at Morgan Creek Golf Club.

The format is a four-person scramble, and proceeds will go toward improving technology at the school.

Cost for individual players is $100, which includes a party at the 19th hole (dinner, silent auction, raffle prizes and dancing) starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the party only cost $30. Registration is at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Corporate sponsorships are available from $100 to $750.

Alumni golf tourney, baseball at Oakmont

Oakmont High School will hold its eighth annual alumni golf tournament Friday, April 27, and its 10th annual alumni baseball game Saturday, April 28.

The golf tournament is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Woodcreek Oaks Golf Club. The cost is $65. The alumni baseball game is scheduled for 11 a.m.
