Road work coming to King Road

-A +A
Road improvements are scheduled to begin next week on King Road, from Sierra College Boulevard to Taylor Road. According to Brian Fragiao, engineer for the Town of Loomis, preparation work will begin Nov. 1 on the $250,000 project that will consist of a two-inch asphalt overlay, fabric material to prevent future cracking, and striping. Removal of traffic buttons and crack filling will take place during the first week, followed by edge grinding and overlay, and striping and markings. Capital improvement projects for 2011 include the installation of a traffic signal on King Road at Swetzer Road in the summer. In the spring, Phase 1 of the Downtown Park multi-modal expansion project to improve the area behind Taylor Road businesses, near the Loomis Depot, will begin. — Martha Garcia
