Recycle your Christmas tree today

-A +A
It's not too late to dispose of your Christmas tree, which will be recycled into mulch. Trees can be dropped off today — Sunday, Jan. 4 — at the back parking lot at Del Oro High School, off Boyington Road near King Road in Loomis. The trees will be chipped for ground cover or composting by Auburn Placer Disposal service. Trees that have been sprayed with artificial snow or spray painted cannot be used for compost. Besides the Del Oro parking lot, other Placer County disposal sites are listed. All trees should be stripped of lights and ornaments before dropped off.
