Recently, the Loomis Union School District held the second of three staff development days. Certificated and classified staff participated in professional growth and development activities. Many district teachers served as grade-level leaders and guided teams in the analysis of student data, a review of annual goals, a discussion of state standards and presented instructional strategies. Some classified staff groups met to discuss aspects of their responsibilities, and para educators and noon-duty supervisors received training to develop more strategies when working with our students.
One of the highlights was a celebration lunch, thanks to the generosity of Landmark Construction and the Loomis Basin Education Foundation. Landmark Construction donated the meat and their employees did all of the barbequing. The Education Foundation provided the drinks and desserts and helped serve, and the district food service staff made salads and provided set-up. More than 250 employees enjoyed a wonderful lunch that day thanks to the generosity and efforts of our supportive community and staff. On behalf of the employees of L.U.S.D., I want to thank say thank you for providing our staff with such a well-deserved luncheon. We are truly blessed to work in such a supportive community.
