Raskin gets a Golden Eagle in Del Oro’s golf victory
Justin Raskin had his best outing of the season.
The Del Oro golfer had three birdies and an eagle after six holes and shot a two-under-par 34 Thursday at Turkey Creek in the Eagles’ 184-232 victory over Woodcreek in a Sierra Foothill League opener.
Raskin has aspirations to play college golf. Coach Hal Steinback said William Jessup is one of the schools interested in Raskin.
Raskin was followed by Josh Sedeno (35), Jahaan Nargussi (37), Bobby Mullen (38), Louie Euer (40) and Ryan Takayama (41) of Del Oro (7-0, 1-0).
Steinback was impressed with Sedeno’s first varsity league match.
“That’s quite an achievement,” Steinback said of the freshman’s one-under score. “I got to give him a lot of credit. He’s starting to come around and play some good golf right at the right time.”
Bryce Johnson (35) led Woodcreek.
Del Oro returns to the links for two more contests before spring break, with Rocklin coming to Turkey Creek on Tuesday and Nevada Union on Thursday.
