Auburn police are looking for witnesses of a fight that sent one to the hospital last week after being injured in the altercation and “let go” from a car. On Monday, Sgt. Victor Pecoraro said investigators are asking anyone who knows about or witnessed a fight that took place mid-last week at about 11:15 p.m. to come forward. The altercation occurred on Enterprise Drive and continued to Nevada Street where a male was “let go” from a vehicle. The male’s injuries sent him to the hospital, Pecoraro said. Another victim, a female, was injured during the alleged fight after she was either punched or struck in the head or face but was not hospitalized, according to Pecoraro. Pecoraro said police believe possibly eight to 10 people were present but said that was an early estimate. He said the group was a mix of juveniles and adults and also a combination of males and females. “What started out as an argument ended up as a physical altercation,” Pecoraro said Monday. Pecoraro said that one person ended up partially in a moving car and was eventually “let go” on the ground. Pecoraro declined to describe the incident further and would not say whether the victim was pushed or dragged from the vehicle. Pecoraro said two different groups of people were involved but at this time police do not believe the incident was gang related. No arrests have yet been made. Pecoraro declined to release more details about the incident saying it was an open investigation.
