Coach Hal Steinback said the Golden Eagles got a big one.

”The kids really played well and did a nice job on a tough course,” Steinback said after the Del Oro golf team beat Nevada Union 196-201 Thursday at Alta Sierra in Sierra Foothill League play.

Del Oro (12-1, 6-1) suffered its lone defeat of the season to Nevada Union.

On Thursday, the Eagles were led by Josh Sedeno (37). He was followed by Justin Raskin (38), Bobby Mullen (38), Louie Euer (40) Ryan Takayama (43).

Del Oro will partake in the 18-hole SFL tournament Monday at Sierra View. Tee time is at noon.

“That’s where things start happening, it’s our first chance to match up against Granite Bay,” said Steinback of the unbeaten Grizzlies. “It should be interesting.”
