Saturday A book sale fundraiser will be held for A New Hope Rescue Foundation from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 26 and Sunday, Nov. 27, at 2166 Swetzer Rd., Penryn. CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, and audio books will be sold. Donations are welcome. For more information, call 663-1608. UPCOMING Loomis Basin Christmas Basket Program donations of money, non-perishable food items, toys, new teen gifts and new or gently used teen paperbacks are needed by Dec. 8. Toys and books can be dropped off at the Loomis Fire District, Station 28, on Horseshoe Bar Road, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Food can be dropped off at the Loomis Basin Chamber of Commerce or Doupnik Manufacturing from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday; and all donations can be delivered to Doupnik Manufacturing, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday, at 3237 Rippey Rd. Tom McClintock will speak at the Loomis Tea Party Patriot meeting at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 28, at Cattlebarron's Café, in Penryn. Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items for a local food bank. Attend a Holiday Gala, sponsored by the Placer County Wine and Grape Association, at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, at the Flower Farm Inn. A catered dinner, live band and dancing are included. Be The Change, a concert to benefit homeless shelters in Placer and Sacramento counties, is at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 9, at the Blue Goose Event Center. Performers include local bands "Mr. December" with Dana Moret; Jim Papastathis; Ted Stancliff; Steve Dunne of Cold Blood; Steve Price from Pablo Cruise; and up-and-coming singer-song writer Evan Zee. A silent auction for an autographed Fender guitar, and raffles will be held. Food and drinks will be available. Clarke Powers School features local and student artists, holiday gifts and entertainment.
