A Loomis man remains in jail after he allegedly took a 10-year-old boy on a 47-mile car run from police. Robert Christopher Reynolds, 36, was arrested Christmas Day on felony charges of attempted assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and willful endangerment of a child and a misdemeanor charge of evading/wanton disregard for safety. He remained jailed Tuesday without bail. At about 1 a.m. Dec. 25 Reynolds was pulled over on Penryn Road at westbound Interstate 80 for a traffic stop. He reportedly fled from Placer County Sheriff’s deputies who chased him for about 48 minutes down about 47 miles of roadway, according to a Placer Sheriff’s arrest report. Reynolds allegedly drove his white 2005 Chevrolet 1500 pickup directly toward a marked law enforcement vehicle and was only stopped after spike strips were put on the ground, the report stated. When the pursuit ended, deputies found a 10-year-old boy inside the car. ~ Jenifer Gee
