Loomis school district recognizes outstanding athletes

Student athletes honored recently by the Loomis Union School District board of trustees — Ophir School: Ann Stockwell, gymnastics 1st place, uneven bars, Las Vegas, multi-state. Penryn School: Madison Barker, rodeo, placed at State Championship, junior high rodeo; Noah Mott, skiing, placed at USA Far West State Champs, Alpine Ski Racing; Joseph Shobe, gymnastics; placed at USAG Norcal State Champs will go on to regionals; Jack Shobe, gymnastics, placed at USAG Norcal State Champs will go on to regionals; Ian Walsh, gymnastics; placed at USAG Norcal State Champs will go on to regionals; Michael Jacobsen, gymnastics, placed at USAG Norcal but will not go on to regionals; Kris Schmidt, rugby, placed 1st at Norcal State Champs; Mason McCrory, rugby, placed 1st at Norcal State Champs; Lucas Armand,running, placed at the California International Marathon in Relays. Franklin School: Travis Glynn, skiing, placed 3rd in NorCal Downhill Skiing; Miranda Richardson, figure skating, placed 4th in the Pacific Coast Sections; McKenna Tooker, figure skating, placed 4th in the Pacific Coast Sections. H. Clarke Powers School: Chase Van Liew, gymnastics, placed in Nationals. Placer School: Kelly Oesterling, gymnastics, received top honors; Katie Leahy, dance, 1st Place at State. Loomis Basin Charter School: Clare Murphy, soccer, won Gold Bracket, NorCal State Cup; Isabella Perez, soccer, won Gold Bracket, NorCal State Cup. Loomis Grammar: Carl Meader, gymnastics, placed 2nd in his age group and 8th overall at the state gymnastics meet; K.J. McKenzie, super motocross, third place trophy at the Dodge Armature Motocross Nationals; Carly Xepoleas, softball, went to state for softball; Hailee Watilo, softball, her All Star softball team took 3rd place at National; Gage Parkhouse-McAllister, super motocross, placed 2nd at state and 2nd at National for Super-motocross.
