Barry Kight pronounced dead at scene
A 37-year-old Loomis man was killed Tuesday in a solo-vehicle rollover crash on Auburn-Folsom Road. Barry Kight was the sole occupant of a 1994 Ford Bronco traveling at an unknown rate of speed east on Auburn-Folsom Road near Junewood Lane around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, according to Kelly Baraga, spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol. Kight reportedly failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, struck a large rock, overturned and was ejected from the Bronco, Baraga said. The victim was not wearing a seat belt, officials said. Kight was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the crash continues. At this point it is not clear if alcohol played a role in the fatal collision.
