Loomis Grammar School supplies Earth day helpers

-A +A
Loomis Grammar School students in the fifth, sixth and seventh grades observed Earth Day on April 22, by holding a Trash-a-Thon. The funds raised will go to a Loomis School Outdoor Education Scholarship Fund. The students recruited sponsors for their labor and toil to clean the debris from the streets of Loomis. Each of the six classes combed neighborhoods for an eyesore, bagged it, and left it on the street corner for volunteers to pick up. Monies will allow needy students in the sixth and seventh grades to participate in trips to the redwoods and the coast. Teachers involved in the project included Kristine Sohrakoff, Melissa McCormick, Susan McQueen, Crystal Call, Emily Wiskus and Karen Acosta.
