Placer Pops Chorale will have a free E-waste drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12, at Del Oro High School, 3301 Taylor Road. Participants won’t have to get out of their car, they can just pop the trunk or open the door and have it unloaded. For more information, call 797-2372.


Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays of Placer County holds its monthly meeting at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 14, in Conference Room A at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital, 11815 Education Street, Auburn. The speaker is Ryan Parino, whose presentation will focus on the FDA's discriminatory blood donation policies.


Free tax preparation through Tax-Aide will be available by appointment only on Monday and Wednesday afternoons at the Loomis Library for federal and state tax preparation. Sponsored by the IRS and AARP, the service is available to all taxpayers with no age restrictions, except those who have farm or rental property income or home offices. All returns are filed electronically and refunds are available by direct deposit. Appointments can be made by calling 672-1182.


Del Oro Eagle Band’s annual Crab Feed and Auction is from 6-10 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Blue Goose Event Center. Tickets are $40 and include crab, shrimp, chowder, pasta, salad and bread. Del Oro CIF hosts a fajita dinner before Back To School night, from 5-6:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 28, in the Del Oro High School cafeteria. The dinner will be catered by Randy’s Creative Catering. All proceeds benefit the CSF Scholarship Fund and CSF  college trips and conference trips. Tickets are $10. Presale tickets are available until Friday, Jan. 18 from any student CSF member or contact Mrs. Luci at Limited tickets will be sold at the door.

The American Legion John A. Stacker Post #775 presents their 20th annual Cioppino Dinner at 6 p.m., Feb. 2, at the Blue Goose Event Center. Tickets are $35 each and raffle tickets will be sold. For tickets, call Fuzzy Jarnagin at 798-8586.
