Del Oro Sports Boosters will hold an Online Auction through March 10 to benefit the school’s sports. Auction items include cabin getaways, wines, home and office items, golf, restaurant cards, and goods and services offered by school families. Beginning March 1, participants can log on to www.auction.doparentsclub.org, create bidder profiles and then shop.

Crafty Treasures presents its Spring Fling craft show from 2-7 p.m., Friday, March 1, and 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, March 2, at the Penryn Masonic Lodge, 7201 English Colony Way, in Penryn. For more information, go to craftytreasures.com.

The Exultation Choir from California Lutheran High School in Wildomar, will perform March 1, at Hope Lutheran Church in Penryn. The Christian music concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call the 652-4273.

A used book sale will be held for Lincoln’s Fieldhaven Feline Rescue from 8 a.m. to noon, March 2 and 3, at 2166 Swetzer Road, in Penryn. Prices are 25 cents to $1. Donations are welcome. For more information, call 663-1608.

The Placer County Master Gardeners present their Sixth Annual Gardeners Gathering from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Saturday, March 2 at the Blue Goose Fruit Shed. The cost for the daylong event is $30. South Placer Republican Women Federated March Luncheon is at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 2, at Sierra View Country Club, 105 Alta Vista Ave., in Roseville. Free tax preparation through Tax-Aide will be available by appointment only on Monday and Wednesday afternoons at the Loomis Library for federal and state tax preparation. Sponsored by the IRS and AARP, the service is available to all taxpayers except those who have farm or rental property income or home offices, with no age restrictions. All returns are filed electronically and refunds are available by direct deposit. Appointments can be made by calling 672-1182.

Loomis Basin Soroptimists present Tostada Bingo at 5:30 p.m., Saturday March 9, at Loomis Veterans Hall. Proceeds benefit programs for women and children. Tickets are $20 each and include shredded beef tostada dinner, dessert, drink ticket, bingo game packet and dobber. A no-host bar and raffle are available. The Auburn Fair Boosters and the Gold Country Fair will host a fairground improvement day from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16. Placer County 4-H and FFA members volunteer to help with general clean-up, painting, weeding, and planting of new vegetation across the fairgrounds. Community organizations, school clubs, corporations, and individuals who would like to get involved are encouraged to participate. Del Oro Dance and Cheer teams hold an E-waste drive Saturday, April 6, at the Del Oro pool parking lot, 3301 Taylor Road. Participants won’t need to leave their car, just pop the trunk or open the door and it will be unloaded. Funds raised go to uniforms and equipment. The Afro-Cuban Funk Band will perform at 7 p.m., April 13, at the Loomis United Methodist Church, 6414 Brace Road. The Loomis Basin Education Foundation holds an E-waste recycling drive from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday April 20, at Loomis Grammar School, with easy dropoff. Monitors/TVs PCs, VCRs, stereos, printers, keyboards, phones, game consoles, and small kitchen appliances like blenders, mixers, and toasters are just some of the electronics accepted. Large appliances or hazardous items are not accepted. Proceeds benefit the Loomis Basin Education Foundation and the seven elementary schools in the Loomis Union School District.
