Lions golf tourney to benefit Scouts

The Loomis Lions Club Golf Tournament, to benefit Boy Scout Troop 12, has been set for May 8 at the Lincoln Hills Orchard Course at the Lincoln Hills Golf Club. There will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The format is a four-person scramble. Prizes will be given for both men and women longest drive and closest to the pin. Activities will continue at Veterans Memorial Hall in Loomis, where a barbecue will be served and raffles held. Barbecue tickets for non-golfers will also be available. Tournament organizers are offering an early-bird special, for reservations made by March 1, of $90 per person or $500 for a sponsorship package, which includes four golfers and a sponsorship sign. After March 1, fees go up to $100 per person or $550 for the sponsorship package. All golfers get a barbecue dinner. Non-golfer barbecue tickets are $15 each.
