Lindgren, Philpot win Modified twin 50s at Roseville speedway in no time

It took all of 31 minutes to run twin 50-lap Modified main events on the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series program Saturday night at All American Speedway.

Rich Lindgren won the first Modified feature in 12 minutes. The second main, won by Jason Philpot, took 19 minutes.

Lindgren and Jay Linstroth ran 1-2 wire to wire in the opener, featuring 13 cars, with Lindgren beating Linstroth to the checkered flag by .312 of a second.
Philpot finished third and Scott Winters fourth. Linstroth also won the trophy dash.

Philpot, Linstroth and Winters then ran 1-2-3 in the second feature. Philpot won by 2.228 seconds. Lindgren was fifth.

Winters was the No. 1 qualifier at 14.264 seconds around the one-third-mile oval.

Bomber — Chris Paulson registered the only lap under 16 seconds (15.954) en route to winning the 35-lap main event.

Paulson took the checkered flag by 1.41 seconds over Richard Perez, and Erick Ray was third in the 19-car field. Paulson started third and took the lead on lap six. Paulson, Perez and Ray ran 1-2-3 for the last 30 laps.

Jarrod Beddow was the top qualifier at 15.995. Paulson and Rick Anable won heats, and Keith Hopkinson won the dash.

Street Stock — Mickey Owens had the quickest car in qualifying (15.010) and the main event, beating Kevin Owens to the checkered flag by .733 of a second.

Mickey Owens started fifth among 18 cars, weaved through the field and took the lead from early pacesetter Josh Whitfield on lap 14. Kevin Owens took second from Richard Poppert Jr. on lap 49 of the 50-lap feature.

Poppert finished third in the feature and won a heat. Dave Silva won the other heat, and Mark Blanton claimed the dash.
