Del Oro’s girls volleyball team made the long trek to Placerville last Thursday night and returned home with a hard fought five set win over the host El Dorado Cougars. Falling behind 0-2 after losing the first two games, 26-24 and 25-21, the Lady Eagles righted their ship and won the last three games – 25-19, 25-16 and 15-12 – to pull out the marathon victory. The win raised Del Oro’s season record to 12-4 going into tonight’s 6:15 p.m. home match against Whitney, of Rocklin. The match will be Del Oro’s final tune-up before the lady Eagles open Sierra Foothill League play next Wednesday when they host Woodcreek. JV and frosh match times are slated for 5 p.m. before the varsity’s square off at 6:15 p.m.
