Lady Eagles Frosh Girls Gain Tourney Finals

Del Oro meets Woodcreek today at 2 p.m. in title bout

Del Oro’s Lady Eagle girls frosh basketball team will play Woodcreek today at 2 p.m. in the championship game of the Lady Eagle Frosh Invitational Tournament at Del Oro. Del Oro gained the finals by turning back Union Mine, 51-27, Tuesday afternoon. Jordan Courage’s nine points and six each from Emily Boberg and Allyson Kleinsmith paced the Lady Eagles who had 12 different players reach the scoring column. Kleinsmith also stood out on the boards as she collected seven rebounds. Meanwhile, teammate Renae Leveille came up with a team high five steals. Today’s championship game between Del Oro and Woodcreek will be a rematch of the finals of the recent Lincoln Tournament where the Timberwolves defeated the Lady Eagles by a point. Woodcreek advanced to today’s title game by defeating Pleasant Valley of Chico, 41-26.
