Del Oro's girls basketball team relied on scoring balance Tuesday night to post a first-round win in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section's Div. II playoffs.

Leading from start to finish, the Lady Eagles, the No. 5 seed, turned back No. 12 Tracy by a 49-31 count to advance to Thursday's second round.

And, thanks to No. 13 Antelope's 57-52 upset win over No. 4 River City, the Lady Eagles will host Antelope Thursday in Loomis at 7 p.m. with a trip to the Div. II semifinals next week at the University of Pacific in Stockton on the line.

"It will be nice to play at home again," said Del Oro coach Mike Takayama about Thursday's matchup with the Titans. "I'm happy with the way we played tonight for not having played in awhile. We're looking though for a tough game with Antelope."

Del Oro, which led 30-15 at halftime, was led in scoring by Stephanie Geyer with 12 points and Brianna Ruiz with 11. Mackenna Mitchell followed with eight more while Lauren Heyn scored six and led all rebounders by grabbing 12 caroms.

The Lady Eagles improved to 18-10 with the win while Tracy ends the season at 16-11.

In other games involving foothill-area teams, No. 8 Central Catholic beat No. 9 Forest Lake Christian, 70-27, in a Div. V opener held in Modesto.

Also in Div. V, No. 10 Foresthill beat No. 7 Big Valley Christian in Stockton. The Wildfires advance to take on No. 2 Turlock Christian Thursday on the road.
