Del Oro’s girls water polo team defeated El Camino, 4-2, to take third place in last Saturday’s Sierra College Shootout tournament played in Rocklin. Earlier in the tournament, Del Oro dropped a tough 5-2 decision to eventual champion Miramonte, of Orinda. Kaitlynn Thompson and Joie-Lynn Howard scored Del Oro’s goals in the setback.
