After a long trip from the Fresno area last Friday afternoon, the Clovis West junior varsity football team got off the bus in Loomis and never knew what hit them. The big play in the scoring march was a 15-yard pass from Moore to Duncan Small for 21 yards and a 10-yard run by Tuttle. Del Oro stayed on the offensive in the second quarter as a one-yard run by Moore for another touchdown lifted the Golden Eagles’ lead to 27-0 after Humes’ extra point boot. With the final minutes of the first half ticking down, the Golden Eagles were able to get on the scoreboard again as Dan Becker picked off a Clovis West pass and returned it 53 yards for six points. Humes’ true extra point boot sent Del Oro into the locker room with a 34-0 halftime lead. In the second half, Van Lengen played the complete Del Oro roster liberally as hard running from Shane Peterson and Jeremy Pilcher sparked the offense. Tough defense from Jeff Setterlund, Jason Morgan (interception) and Blake Stahl led the way.
