It’s not often that a basketball coach can say that all 15 of his players reached the scoring column in the same game, but it happened to Del Oro JV coach Gregg Pistochini last week in one of the Golden Eagles’ final non-league games. “It’s rare when that happens,” said Pistochini after all of his players scored in the Golden Eagles’ recent 74-52 win over the visiting Lincoln Zebras. “Everyone got to play a lot and everyone scored,” he said. Del Oro, now 16-1 on the season, led 63-33 at the end of three quarters. The Golden Eagles scoring went like this: Keenan Finney led the way with 13 points, followed by Michael Moore and Mason Curry with nine points each, Connor Drake added eight and Brandon Lopez scored six. Also finding the scorebook were Tyler Meteer with five points; Nate Andrews, Kyle Wells, Austin Smith and Jake Calkis, all with four points each; Reagan Hime, Danny Muscarella and Ryan Ubry all added two points each; and Daeshon Rose and Jack Huizenga with one point each. In last Thursday’s Sierra Foothill League opener against the Rocklin JVs, Del Oro built leads of 33-20 by halftime and 47-27 at the end of three quarters, before eventually posting a 56-50 win. Meteer’s 20 points, 14 from Drake, 11 by Finney and nine from Moore led Del Oro’s offense in the win over the Thunder. Del Oro also defeated Folsom in a recent non-league game, 63-39. Finney netted 14 points and Moore scored 11. The Golden Eagles’ other most recent victory came in a 56-51 decision over an athletic Monterey Trail squad. Meteer led the way with 16 points, while Huizenga stepped up and added 10 more. Del Oro will be in Sierra Foothill League action tonight at home against Nevada Union.
