I-80 accident sends driver to hospital with major injuries

A pickup driver was reportedly pinned under their dashboard in a major injury accident on Interstate 80 in Loomis Thursday morning. According to an online report from the California Highway Patrol, the driver suffered major injuries after their vehicle appeared to have rolled over multiple times off the freeway. The accident occurred at about 10:20 a.m. while the driver was heading eastbound on I-80 just west of the King Road overcrossing and east of the Horseshoe Bar Road overpass. The report stated that the initial call for the accident was a pickup versus a tree. About 100 feet of chain link fencing was damaged during the accident, the report stated.
