Del Oro’s girls softball team had its five-game winning streak snapped last weekend in Roseville’s Stephanie LeDoux Tournament, but the Lady Eagles probably weren’t that upset about the pair of tourney losses to Roseville and Whitney. That’s because earlier in the week the Del Oro girls made sure they won their game that really counted — a 3-0 Sierra Foothill League win over Woodcreek — that keeps the Lady Eagles in the league’s driver’s seat as team broke for spring break. Del Oro, with the win over Woodcreek, leads the SFL with a 5-0 mark at the halfway mark of the league campaign. The Lady Eagles will resume SFL action next Tuesday with an away game at Rocklin. In the win over Woodcreek, pitcher Jordan Courage fired a three-hitter and aided herself at the plate by going two-for-three with a solo home run.
