Golden Eagle netters split with Granite Bay, Rocklin

Del Oro freshman Brett Bacharach remained undefeated on the season and in the process helped Del Oro’s boys tennis team notch a 7-2 Sierra Foothill League win over Rocklin last week. Bacharach notched a 6-1, 6-3 victory to help the Golden Eagles move their SFL record to 6-1. Also posting singles match wins in straight sets for the Golden Eagles were Andrew Milton (6-4, 7-5), Garrett Dahlin (6-3, 6-2), Brandon Bailey (6-4, 6-1) and Spencer Klein (6-2, 6-3). In doubles play, Taylor Carrington and Nick Koop took a close 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) match while Brandt Steinmetz and Paul Villa teamed at No. 3 doubles for a 6-0, 6-1 win. Earlier, Del Oro dropped its first SFL match of the season by falling to Granite Bay 5-4 in a tight contest played on the Grizzlies court. Bacharach posted an impressive 6-4, 6-2 win in the No. 1 singles match while Bailey had a 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 win at No. 4. Taylor Carrington and Nick Koop teamed up for a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles. Brandt Steinmetz and Paul Villa cruised 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3.
