Girls basketball academy at Sierra College
Sierra College’s 2013 Girls Basketball Academy hosted by the Sierra College women’s basketball program is set for June 24-27.
The academy is for girls players ages 6-17 and will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The academy will be held in the Sierra College gymnasium on the school’s Rocklin campus.
The goal of the academy is to provide personalized instruction for girls on the fundamentals of developing shooting techniques, ball handling, passing and defensive skills.
Position play such as post, guard skills and specialized offense and defense will also be covered.
Sierra College head coach Brandie Murrish, who last season directed the Lady Wolverines to a record of 23-8 and a share of the Big 8 Conference title, is the camp director and will be assisted by her coaching staff and current and past Sierra team players.
Fee for the camp is $125 which includes instruction, academy basketball or t-shirt, player evaluation, certificate of participation, optional swimming and special awards.
