Get on your horse and ride

-A +A
The 17th annual Ride With Pride horse camp, put on by the Placer County Sheriff’s Department, is coming up next month. Registrations are now being accepted for the free program. The one-day camp pairs children ages 7 to 12 with deputies and their horse partners. Participants may choose to attend the camp on one of four days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, June 22, 23, 24 or 25, at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn. Classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day. A free lunch is also provided. Members of the Sheriff’s Department, all with horse experience, have developed a complete program featuring sessions in which children have fun while learning about the care, handling and riding of horses. For more information, or to register, call Community Service Officer Lynn Harrison at the Loomis Substation, 652-2419.
